The fine print, in plain English

Privacy Policy

I audit opaque systems for a living, so this policy is written the way I wish every tool's policy was written: plainly. Here's what gets collected on this site, why, and what you can do about it.

Effective date: September 17, 2026. This policy covers teamgetz.com, operated by Team Getz LLC.

What I collect, and how

Things you give me directly. When you fill out a form on this site (like the Tech Stack Temp Check signup), book a call, or email me, I collect what you provide: typically your name, email address, your store's URL, and whatever you write to me. When you book through the scheduling tool, you also provide the details it asks for.

Things collected automatically. Like most websites, this site uses cookies and similar technologies that collect technical information when you visit: your device and browser type, pages viewed, approximate location, and how you arrived here. Specifically, this site uses:

  • Squarespace analytics, which powers the site and reports basic visit statistics.
  • Meta Pixel, which helps me measure whether my ads work and show relevant ads on Facebook and Instagram.
  • LinkedIn Insight Tag, which does the same for LinkedIn.
  • Embedded services such as Google Fonts (typography), Calendly (scheduling), and Mailchimp (email signups), which may set their own cookies when their features load.

Why I collect it

To respond when you contact me. To send you the emails you signed up for. To understand how people use the site and whether my marketing is working. To show ads to people who've visited the site. And to run the business generally (invoicing clients, keeping records). That's it. I don't sell your personal information, and I don't collect more than the above.

Who it's shared with

The service providers named above (Squarespace, Meta, LinkedIn, Google, Calendly, Mailchimp) process data as part of providing their services, under their own privacy policies. If you become a client, information you share stays between us except where needed to do the work you've hired me for. I'll also disclose information if the law genuinely requires it.

Email

If you join my list, you'll get occasional emails. Every one has an unsubscribe link, and unsubscribing works immediately and permanently. "No inbox blowups" is a policy here, not a slogan.

Your choices

  • Cookies: you can block or delete cookies in your browser settings, and you can decline non-essential cookies via this site's cookie banner.
  • Meta ads: adjust what Meta does with your data at facebook.com/adpreferences.
  • LinkedIn ads: manage ad preferences in your LinkedIn settings.
  • Industry opt-outs: optout.aboutads.info covers many ad networks at once.
  • Access and deletion: want to know what I have about you, or want it deleted? Email me and I'll handle it. Depending on where you live, you may have formal legal rights to access, correct, or delete your data; either way, I honor these requests.

Data retention and security

I keep information as long as it's useful for the purposes above or as the law requires, then delete it. Data lives in the reputable services listed here, which maintain their own security measures; no method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, but I keep access limited and don't hoard data I don't need.

Children

This site is for business owners and isn't directed at children under 13, and I don't knowingly collect their information.

Changes

If this policy changes meaningfully, I'll update the effective date above. The current version always lives at this page.
